Champion Juicer G5-PG710 G5-PG720-BLACK Commerical Heavy Duty Juicer Review

Champion Juicer G5-PG710 G5-PG720-BLACK Commerical Heavy Duty JuicerBefore considering reviews of juicers, the first thing the reader needs to examine is the experience of the reviewer.I've noticed that dozens of these reviews are by those new to juicing, often assessing their first juicer purchase. They then are making arbitrary statements about equipment of which they know little.Rather like assessing a sewing machine, a camera, any piece of technology without sufficient perspective.

I began juicing back in the 70's when I became vegetarian. At that time juicers were not considered fashionable as now, and certainly there were no infomercials or cable! There was a fairly inexpensive line of centrifugal juicers made by Braun, Krups, Oster, etc. There was the Norwalk, still the Rolls-Royce of juicers (at $2000+).There was the excellent Acme centrifugal (now sold as Omega). And there was the Champion, then selling for $250-300.After chopping through a nice little Braun in a year or so I spent hard-earned college earnings on a Champion; they only came in white then.Much of of the hoopla about oxidation of juice hadn't come up yet.We had no health food stores in Texas that I knew about that carried the Champion, so I ordered mine over the phone.

I was shocked when it arrived at the weight. This is no lightweight!Unlike the department store juicers, it has a very large motor, a GE, with tons of torque. This is because this is a masticating juicer with a slow-turning cutting cone. Without the cone assembly on the front it is actually not large at all.

The 'plastic' parts on the Champion were/are nylon rather than just molded plastic. This means they are also quite flexible and are of course shatterproof. The cutting cone is quite different than other machines, being a solid piece of nylon on a large metal cutting shaft. The 'blades' are not sharp as on a centrifugal juicer; one can run one's fingers over them without cutting oneself. Why?Because their purpose is not to cut alone; they force the food around the cone inside the outside housing, then over a curved screen at the bottom where the brushing motion and pressure mash the juice out of the produce. The cone has an indentation that spits the pulp out the front of the cone assembly.Again, this is not the same as a single-auger juicer where the auger forces the food against a screen at the front.I won't say which is better, they're just different. However, unlike single-auger machines like a Samson or Omega 2005, it is not self-feeding.There is a supplied pusher; if you look down in the feeding area you can see that the cone turns while you apply pressure on the food, to grind off bits of the produce to send over the juicing screen. It is NOT pressureless, but you don't have to put your weight on it to get it to feed, either.Judging from what I've seen of twin-gear machines on YouTube and a couple of friends, the pressure required is nothing like trying to force produce through those. There's one bodybuilder on YouTube who demonstrates putting his twin gear on the floor so he can put his weight into it!A child can easily operate the Champion's required force.

Assembly of the Champion is extremely easy.I suppose it sounds quaint now, but one needs to keep a little Crisco container and put a dollop on the motor output shaft prior to juicing. This is a metal-to-metal contact when the juicing cone is put on and simply helps separate the cone when finished.I guess one could use Pam or some spray but I've never had a problem with keeping a little Crisco can for that, and only a very small amount is required.Slide the cone on, put the juicing screen in its recessed holder on the nozzle container holding the cone, a short twist and you're ready.

The Champion amazed me then, and still amazes me at the simplicity and durability of its design. Not a bunch of little plastic parts to keep up with.As the parts are nylon, they won't break if dropped. They don't crack, they don't deform. They just work.

At the end of juicing, just twist the cone exterior a few degrees and it's off.Reach over and pull off the cutting cone. That's it.Take the juicing screen out and scrub it just like any other juicer, except this one is only a little curved screen and very easy to brush w/o any weird crevices.Wash the cone assembly clean, wash the cutting cone, and you're done.I've always owned dishwashers but have never seen the need to run any of this through.Juice pulp is not baked-on spaghetti sauce; it rinses right off, so why dishwash it?These new Champions come in colors; the light colors will certainly stain with carrot and beet juice, as in any other juicer. If it bothers you, just wipe the affected parts with a little bleach and you are back like new. The motor housing is powdercoated paint.

Those who know juicing know that to juice greens they should be alternated with firm produce like carrots, celery, radishes, apples, etc. This aids the juicer in pushing the greens through. This applies to any juicer I've ever seen, including the Norwalk.Don't expect to run pounds of spinach, etc., through without a 'cleaning' carrot every so often. Most of us don't juice just greens anyway.Once again, a little common sense and knowledge.

Since this is a masticating juicer and the pulp comes out the cone in the front, one can conceivably juice all afternoon w/o having to stop and empty anything.I set mine next to the sink so that the cone end just drops the pulp into the sink bowl.Because of the design of the machine and in the interest in keeping the cone assembly reasonably compact (several inches) the size of the receptable for juice is somewhat limited.Perhaps because I've used one of these so long it's not an issue for me.

I can't count the number of juicings my Champion has had.It has never overheated, never jammed, never plugged up.The motor has never required service or maintenance.Does it remove more juice than any other juicer? No.If that's the supreme issue, buy a Norwalk. However, there is a device known as the People's Press--you can find it on the web--where you can use your Champion, discharging pulp into a cloth bag, then using a hydraulic press (like the Norwalk) to truly get all the juice out of the pulp.My pulp is damp, but again, I don't consider that the only criterion for juicing, not by a long shot. It's just an easy way to market machines.

I currently use two other juicers also, but if my Champion died tomorrow I'd order another one.I remember a few years ago seeing Elizabeth Taylor's kitchen in a magazine and there was a Champion like mine on her counter!Last place I expected to see one.

There is a small blanking plate one can put in place of the juicing screen. This makes great nut butters, drop them into the feed tube and out comes the butter at the other end.I've used this machine forever for frozen dessert by freezing banana pieces and strawberries, etc., then dropping them down the feed tube and coming out with soft-serve at the end of the cone.If one wants something like grated carrots, just run the machine without any plate under the cutting cone and beautiful grating will come out the bottom.

I've found over the years that each juicer has its strong points for some foods and is weaker at others.I've never gotten wheatgrass to do well in here.If I were doing wheatgrass daily I'd buy a juicer for it.On the whole, though, and if I could have just one juicer, this would still be the one.A couple of friends have bought Champions in the last few years and I don't see any difference in quality between mine and theirs. It amazes me that they can sell them so cheap now--the $300 I paid in the 70's was a lot dearer than now!

Juiceman JM300 Juiceman Jr. 2-Speed Electric Juicer Review

Juiceman JM300 Juiceman Jr. 2-Speed Electric JuicerI needed replacement parts for my Jack Lellane Juicer (made by Tristar) that I got from the infomercial. I previously bought replacement parts, for it,from Tristar, the company that makes the Jack L juicer and it took 3 months to receive them.It also took over a month to receive that juicer when I initailly ordered it.Tristar has the worst customer service ever, and I'd recommend avoiding them at all costs, unless you enjoy frustration.
I decided to try to find a new juicer and leave the Jack L juicer behind.
Previous to the Jack L juicer I had the old Juiceman JR, but I didn't really like it because the feeder was very small, the motor was weak, and the plastic broke very quickly.
My research on Amazon showed that the Breville juicers all got good reviews, and I suspect that they're excellent juicers, but after spending $200 on the Jack L juicer i was hesitant to spend that much again.
I happened to be in Macys, and I saw the Juiceman Jr JM300 next to the JL juicer and the Breville Juice fountain plus.A quick look at the floor models showed that the Jack L juicer has only 250 watts of power. The Breville has 850 watts but cost $150.Breville also has a 600 watt model that gets good reviews here on Amazon.
The Juiceman Jr JM300 Has 700 watts and only cost me $59 + tax, and it's a bit smaller than the other two. This looked pretty good to me.
The minute I got home.I juiced 2 heads of leafy green lettuce and a whole lemon w/ the peel on.
This machine is not very loud, and chewed up everything very quickly. It did slow down a bit w/ the lemon, but I only used slow speed ( it has 2 speeds) and I pushed the plunger perhaps too hard.As soon as I let up on the pressure, It chewed up the lemon quickly and easily. This is something the Jack L juicer never did for me.
The design of the feeder and blade seems sturdy enough. The feeder on this model is fairly wide like the other 2 juicers listed above. The feeder is directly over the center of the blade and the hole is the same width as the entire blade. (different than I've seen on other juicers where the feeder is over a radius area of the blade).
The blade has very sharp teeth which seems to be a good feature, but be very careful w/ it. I got a small cut while I was washing it.Otherwise the machine seemsvery safe.
The Pulp that came out of this machine was more dry and the amount of juice was more than the Jack L juicer ever produced.
There is a foam seperator in the juice jug that works well.
Cleaning the machine was easy, and took about 30 seconds.I just rinsed it right after using it and used the brush that came with it to clean the filter.
Based on the price and results of this juicer I'm very happy w/ my purchace.

Black & Decker CJ630 32-Ounce Electric Citrus Juicer Review

Black & Decker CJ630 32-Ounce Electric Citrus JuicerThis is a nice juicer with a quality feel to it. Here is what I like about it, and where I see room for minor improvement:

The Good:
- Very easy to assemble, and more importantly very easy to clean. I just briefly rinse after use and then put the parts in the top dishwasher rack (minus the part housing the motor, of course).
- Operation is clean, i.e. no juice hits the counter top, everything goes inside the pitcher.
- I especially like the two cone sizes: The smaller one is for lemons and limes, the larger which goes on top of the smaller cone when needed, for grapefruits and oranges.
- The smaller cone (which is always in) also features two plastic "blades" (called stirrers in the manual) at the bottom edge which rotate with the cone and help that juice and, if so desired, pulp actually make it into the pitcher through the strainer openings. One of the pet peeves I always had about manual juicers was the fact that the strainer got clogged with pulp and seeds so that the juice sat on top and didn't flow through. Having these stirrers there moves pulp and seeds around so that the juice can get through and the openings don't get clogged. But see note below when processing a larger number of fruits...
- The reverse rotation feature is also useful in that I feel that more juice gets extraced from the fruit than if it would always just rotate in one direction. The fruit halves look really squeezed out.
- Pitcher has a good capacity (32 oz). Works just as well for several large fruits as it does when one only has one single lemon - not too big, not too small.

Don't Like So Much:
- The electrical cord is rather short, so one can't operate this too far away from an outlet.
- The auto-reverse sometimes kicks in and sometimes doesn't, and since there is no button to auto-reverse, it sometimes requires several tries.
- When squeezing a lemon on the max pulp setting, quite a few of the baby seeds also get through. Since I like as much pulp as I can get in my juices, this is either something I have to live with or I reduce the pulp setting to ensure that I don't have the little seeds floating in my juice.
- When squeezing larger fruits like oranges, a lot of the pulp tends to eventually collect on top of the strainer despite the stirrers (it just doesn't fit through the small strainer openings). So I end up having to periodically scoop it out when processing a larger number of fruits to avoid solid covering of the strainer.

Summary:
This is a useful appliance for normal household usage. I don't think, however, I would use it if I had large amounts of juice to make but for the occasional pitcher, this is perfect. At the price this is offered here, there is really nothing to think about: Get it and enjoy your lemonades or orange juices.

Omega VRT330 Dual-Stage Vertical Single-Auger Low-Speed Juicer Review

Omega VRT330 Dual-Stage Vertical Single-Auger Low-Speed JuicerAfter hours of searching for constructive criticisms of the new Omega VRT330 juicer I have found none that were helpful enough with respect to the issues that I was having with this machine. So I felt it was necessary to bring some very significant drawbacks of this juicer to light.
I will be comparing the VRT330 to 8006 model, since I own both. I must say that while the VRT330 does a slightly better job at extracting more juice, the degree of difficulty of cleaning the juicer, plus some engineering shortcomings, in my opinion far outweigh the benefits. VRT has some odd plug on the bottom of the plastic tray, which is supposed to be removed every time you clean the juicer. We almost lost one within a week. Perhaps this is why OMEGA includes 2 plugs with a new unit, because bad engineering must be compensated with spare parts over such lengthy warranty. Among other things, within the first two weeks, the metal/plastic screen (filter), whatever it is called, had cracked from regular use and we had begun to use the 10-year warranty. Then, just days after this incident, the top of the juicer locked up, because when I woke up in the morning and with one eye opened, half asleep closed the top tray off by a little, the whole top of the juicer had to go to the manufacture for full replacement as well. Apparently if you close VRT330 in a slightly different position, it locks up for good and there is nothing you can do to open it, unless you want to crack it open. So we wrote/called to their service center, and were promised a replacement right away. It has already been a month, and no replacement came yet, so much for the warranty. Right now, I have a desire to sell this juicer for half the price and get a good Norwalk 275 instead, which can truly last a lifetime. At the moment we use the 8006 model, and it is great. By far a much simpler and better technology than VRT330. It is easier to clean, less parts and is worry free. The reason why I am aiming at Norwalk is because the 8006 was actually bought for my mother, and the Norwalk is appealing because of its press function.
Bottom line: Omega VRT330 - VERT juicer is a bad improvement (In fact I would not really consider it an improvement over 8006), not quite worth the extra 100$. In my opinion the 2009 release of this juicer is like a beta version of Windows Vista, it sucks 'This is not to say that this machine will not be improved upon, hence I do not mean to stir you away from it for ever, just think OMEGA needs to consider the feedback and polish up on some engineering quirks.Replacement hasn't been ideal either. Having sent the unit to the manufacture a month ago, I do not even know if we are getting anything back anymore. If you are on the market for the juicer, perhaps at this point in time it is reasonable to pass this one up. If you have the chance to buy the 8006, go for it, leave underdeveloped 330VRT to the engineers to improve upon. It has way too many drawbacks to be considered one of the best as it is being advertised. 3 Stars out of 5, and this is really pushing it, really more like 2 1/5.

Conclusion: If I had a choice to have Omega replace the VRT330 for the older 8006 model today, I would without hesitation. I would not recommend the VRT330 to anyone that I know YET, because I believe the product needs serious improvement, which I do not believe will necessarily come soon.

Product Description:
Equipped with a 2-horsepower-equivalent single-phase induction motor, this masticating juicer thoroughly chews up plant fibers to fully extract vitamins, enzymes, and minerals from fruits and vegetables, including wheatgrass and leafy greens. The unit's dual-stage juicing system ensures maximum juice and extremely dry pulp (the first crushing stage extracts and the second pressing stage squeezes), while its Low Speed Technology System (LSTS) and low rotation speed of 80 RPMs result in minimal heat build up and oxidation and maximum extraction of juice, flavor, and nutrients. Add a variety of fruits and vegetables with minimal prep work thanks to the juicer's wide feed-chute opening (measures approximately 2-1/4 by 1-1/4 inches). Best of all, its automatic pulp-ejection function into a pulp container allows for continuous juicing--compost the pulp or, better yet, use it to flavor soups, cakes, and more. The juicer also features an Automatic Wiping System that utilizes a silicone wiping blade, similar to a car's windshield wiper, to help keep the juicing screen free of excess pulp. Other highlights include built-in reverse mode to prevent food from getting stuck, heavy-duty construction, and quiet operation due to squeezing slowly rather than grinding at high speed like centrifugal juicers. Accessories include a fine dual-stage juicing screen, a coarse dual-stage screen, two 50-ounce juicing cups, a tamper, a cleaning brush, and an instruction manual. Easy to assemble, operate, and clean and in a vertical design that takes up minimal space on the counter, the UL- and cUL-approved 150-wattjuice extractor measures 9-5/6 by 6-4/5 by 15-5/6 inches and carries a 10-year limited warranty.

Better Chef IM550V Juicer Review

Better Chef IM550V JuicerI've just finished drinking my first glass of carrot juice made with this juicer.I couldn't be more satisfied.

First of all it's very easy to assemble, disassemble and wash.I've had two other "under $50" juicers and have had trouble getting the stainless steel baskets in and out and remembering what order to assemble it - with this one it was a breeze.

Carrots are one of the harder textured food to juice. This machine was so quick and powerful I couldn't believe it, it took seconds!!!!I can't attest to whether it will continue to work, but for function and ease of use you can't beat it.It also does a good job of extracting all the juice out - the pulp was very dry.

Would recommend it if it were five times the price - I've never seen a juicer so inexpensive. This is the machine to buy if you've considered juicing, but were hesitant to invest the money. Also, makes a great additional juicer.

Breville 800CPXL Die-Cast Stainless-Steel Motorized Citrus Press Review

Breville 800CPXL Die-Cast Stainless-Steel Motorized Citrus PressWe just received our Breville 800CPXL Citrus Press after the holidays and have used it several times since. Compared to the low-end (and much less expensive) plastic Krupps version we replaced (which kept tripping our GFCI), I rate this product 4.5 stars out of 5. It falls just short of perfection, but is nonetheless the most elegant and functional citrus juicer I've been able to find at this price point.

LIKES:
1) Beautiful die-cast design feels substantial and stays put when pressing citrus. Kudos to the industrial design team for turning a juicer into a work of art. This is by far the best looking electric citrus press on the market.
2) Brushed stainless exterior goes with any decor and looks great on countertop. No reason to store it away.
3) Removable strainer and juice basin are easy to handwash (I recommend using a small brush or toothbrush to help clean out the pulp).
4) Can press an 8-oz glass of orange juice in less than a minute and works with lemons, mandarins, oranges, and grapefruits without changing elements.

AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT:
This juicer works well and beats others I've tried. However, there are a few areas that Breville engineers could improve in their next model. None of these recommendations should cause you to avoid purchasing this unit, but I list them here nonetheless since there's always room to improve most products:

1) Doesn't handle large grapefruit as well as I'd like. Still left some juice/pulp in the skin, which I squeezed out by hand. Breville could consider offering a larger snap-on attachment more suitably sized for pressing grapefruit.

2) Sometimes the skin of the orange remains stuck inside the top of the press, requiring manual extraction. Maybe I'm pressing too hard, but this still seems to happen from time to time. On a few occasions, I stalled the motor completely which surprised me. However, stalling the motor didn't cause the GFCI to keep tripping like the Krupps model we replaced.

3) The electrical cord is nicely designed, but a little too short. I'd prefer to see a 6' cord to reach to the nearest outlet while allowing flexibility in where to place the juicer on the countertop.

4) If you leave the juicer out on the countertop where there's a cabinet above, the handle (press) bangs against the top of the cabinet and requires a little finesse to pull it towards the edge of the countertop when you're ready to use it. The typical height between the countertop and bottom of a cabinet is 18" +/- 1" and often the face frame of the cabinet protrudes about 1/2" or so below the bottom of the cabinet underside. If Breville offered a locking position with the handle down, this wouldn't be a problem and it would be easier to slide out the juicer into position from the back of the counter.

5) The handle itself seems a little flimsy when compared to the rest of the die-cast machine. While it's functional and certainly strong enough, I would prefer a solid convex die-cast handle arm (oval cross section) versus the inverted "U" type cross section of the current design. Although the current arm does appear to be die cast, during the extraction process, juice and pulp tend to splatter on the concave underside of the handle. This makes cleaning the handle a little harder than it should if the handle cross section were convex on top and bottom.

Overall, this is an excellent product with bold design and good looks. I recommend this model to anyone who wants to add freshly squeezed citrus to your daily or weekly regimen. I can't comment on the long-term reliability of the motor since we've only had the unit for a few weeks. But so far so good.

Juiceman JM503 Juiceman Pro 3-Speed Juice ExtractorI have been juicing for a lot of years using a variety of juice extractors, and the Juiceman JM503 is far and away the best juicer I have ever used or have seen my friends use. It is powerful, easy to use, and a breeze to clean up.Whoever designed this machine gave it a lot of thought and testing. I know I should be able to find at least one chink in the armor, but I cant see anything I would change. Thanks for a great product: I would recommend this to friends and family as well, without fear of it bouncing back to me.

Lexen Healthy Juicer - Manual Wheatgrass Juice Extractor Review

Lexen Healthy Juicer - Manual Wheatgrass Juice ExtractorPros:
-----
1. Very compact: It takes less counter/table space than a small plate. Most of the electrics (except the L'Equip mini and the Waring JEX 328) are major space hogs.

2. Very efficient: Masticating juicers extract more juice than the centrifugal models. Perhaps more importantly, they do a better job of crushing tough plant cell walls and releasing enzymes - think minced garlic versus chopped garlic. (Whether or how much added health benefits this results in, depends on what you juice. It's hard to get good info on this, but plant enzymes typically help in breakdown and better absorption of nutrients.)

3. Cheap (Check out their Ebay listing - it's $10 cheaper over there.) If you don't want to drop upwards of $250 on an electric masticating juicer, or aren't sure whether you'll stick to it, this one's worth a try.

4. Easy to clean

Cons:
-----
1. The hopper's a bit small, which means you'll be reloading frequently. This seems to be the trouble with masticating juicers in general (including the electrics), but the Z-star manual juicer (also available on amazon, though at twice the cost) has a somewhat bigger hopper.
UPDATE: see effort section below.

2. As I haven't used this long enough, I can't say how durable it is, though it seems very tough and well-made. (The auger tip and the surface it crushes against are both stainless steel, and all the rest is polycarbonate.)

Juicing effort:
---------------
Turning the handle: Effortless for leafy veggies, very little effort for carrots and firm veggies, provided you cut them into smaller pieces first. Don't expect to be able to throw a whole carrot or radish in. The reviewer that claims that you need to be a weightlifter to turn this thing was funny, but wildly off the mark.
UPDATE: Curiously enough, on trying red cabbage, the juicer groans, esp. with largish pieces. I noticed that the juicing effort is quite sensitive to the size of the pieces - with smallish pieces, not only is less turning effort required, but the produce doesn't need pushing either. This lets you feed and crank the handle at the same time, making the process faster.
All in all, though, this idiosyncracy counts as a negative point, and I'm lowering my rating to 4 stars.
UPDATE 2: When juicing cabbage, drizzle a little bit of olive oil over the chopped cabbage - this completely eliminates the groaning (which happens due to friction between the rubbery leaves and the juicer body).

Cleaning: better than the electrics in this department because of fewer parts and simpler design. Cleanup is a major part of juicing effort, so I count this as a pro.

Cutting: For firm veggies, you'll have to cut them into smaller parts (no perfect julienne required; just a quick, sloppy chop would do.) Even so, this adds a little bit to the effort, so if you primarily want to juice firm veggies, you should look at an electric.

Setup: Very easy (again, from the simpler design).

OXO Good Grips Citrus Squeezer Review

OXO Good Grips Citrus SqueezerI've used a large variety of tools over the years to juice citrus, and I was excited when I learned of this tool. Not only is it by Oxo, a leader in kitchen gadget innovations, but Cooks Illustrated also rated it as the top method for juicing limes.

I'm happy to report it does indeed juice limes very well!People without a lot of forearm/wrist strength may have to brace the bottom handle of the squeezer on something, and all the juice doesn't drain out of the squeezer until you remove the spent half-lime (it could use a few more drain holes), but it's effortless for me and I don't get juice all over my hands like when I use a reamer. For a lime squeezer, I give it 5 stars.

For a lemon squeezer, it leaves something to be desired.Working with an average supermarket lemon, it doesn't squeeze out as much juice as a reamer would (leaving some still in the lemon, wasted), and worse, squeezing hard causes lemon juice to squirt out the side for a sticky mess to clean up.Still, it is easy to use, if not very effective, so for a lemon squeezer, it gets 3 stars.

Since this is marketed as a citrus squeezer and not a lime squeezer, I averaged my two ratings to award 4 stars. If you're going to use this tool for limes and only the occasional lemon, the Oxo Citrus Squeezer is an excellent buy.

Cuisinart CCJ-100 Citrus Pro Juicer Review

Cuisinart CCJ-100 Citrus Pro JuicerYou'd think it would be hard to mess up when designing an item that just juices halved citrus fruit, but they did. And how! There are three annoying features about this machine that interact to provide a supremely annoying user experience.

The first annoying feature about this juicer is that the pour spout juts out a mere 1/4 inch from the side of the machine. Since the machine is rounded and somewhat urn-shaped (fatter on top than on the bottom), you have very little space to get a glass or measuring cup near the body of the machine in order to catch the juice. Keep in mind that some measuring glasses can be rather thick, and you can easily see that this might be a bit of a problem.

Now for the other two problems. I should note that this machine has a decent amount of torque, and can indeed ream out a citrus fruit rather efficiently, leaving nothing but rind. The problem is the three little rubber feet on the bottom cannot stand up to the machine's torque. Push a fruit down on the top and the entire machine jerks to the side, whereupon the spout flinches away from its tiny area of proper juice-dispensing, and juice meets counter. You have to exert a considerable amount of force when pushing down the fruit just to get the thing to stay put. I had to use both hands to do this (one holding the lemon down, one pushing against the side of the machine, leaving none for the measuring cup). It's not an insignificant amount of force; you really have to brace your arms on the thing to keep it still.

Thus comes the third problem, which is the auto-reverse mechanism. About the second or third time you push down on the fruit and activate the machine, it goes the other way (clockwise instead of counterclockwise) in order to get more pulp and juice out of the fruit. However, I haven't figured out how to tell which direction it's going to go next (it's not a simple first time this way, next time that way), so when it decides to change, the machine jerks in the opposite direction of where you were expecting it to go. This operates in opposition to the force you are exerting on the side of the machine trying to keep it from moving. Again, hilarity ensues.

So, all in all, I am NOT impressed with this juicer. Unfortunately, it was the only one at the store. Perhaps another company will see the opportunity here and dare to make a juicer that does not have such an impressively compounded collection of design flaws.

Jack Lalanne PJP Power Juicer Pro Stainless-Steel Electric Juicer Review

Jack Lalanne PJP Power Juicer Pro Stainless-Steel Electric JuicerI have been juicing for years with a few different cheap brand names. They were ok but very difficult to clean and very loud. I like to make my juice early in the morning before I go to the gym and it would sometimes wake up my neighbors if I did it too early. Many times I had to juice after the gym because it was so loud. The first thing that I noticed with the Power Juicer Pro is that it is super quite. Secondly it is pretty easy to clean. Thirdly, the machine is just beautiful. And lastly, the juice is much finer and cleaner than juice made from much cheaper machines. If you are serious into juicing and you do it everyday this is the machine to get. If you juice once in awhile you might want to get the cheaper Jack Lalanne plastic models. But beware that the plastic juicers are harder to clean and often get stained by the carrots. I hope that this review will be helpful to some. Happy juicing!!!

Jack LaLanne's JLPJB Power Juicer Juicing Machine Review

Jack LaLanne's JLPJB Power Juicer Juicing MachineOverall I think it's a great juicer, particularly for the budget conscious novice; the price is appealing and the quality is good. There is no need to buy disposable filters and the main source of labor lies in washing which is initially something to get used to. The amount of juice it extracts is good as far as I can tell, though the pulp is not perfectly dry*, but the juice is thick and not clear, so if you want very clear juice perhaps this juicer isn't for you.

*Now for my explanation on the pulp. Apples for example, frequently result in very thin slices being discarded into the pulp collector. That doesn't thrill me. Also in general, despite the pulp being dry, I discover on dismantling the juicer there's a good amount of wet juicy pulp that's stuck to the inside (think: apple sauce). The TV demonstration's somewhat misleading on their claim of this juicer's superiority in extracting juice completely from fruits and vegies.

As mentioned by others, the parts are plastic, so take care in washing well. For me the green side (scour pad) of the sponge will remove a great deal of the staining, especially if you clean it right after using, but be gentle, because you don't want to scratch it up and create more crevices for stains to seep.

By the way, you do still need to cut the fruit, like large apples and oranges which cannot be fed into the chute. But of course, the preparation process is lessened as peeling and de-seeding is an optional step. Be careful when you use this juicer on harder veggies like beets, though. The way I get around this is by cutting them down and alternating with another type of veg/fruit. Fortunately I haven't had any problems by following the suggestions outlined by the LaLannes, but I can definitely sense there's a limit.

REGULAR or DELUXE?
Soon after purchasing my regular model I found the deluxe at the local wharehouse store for the same price. I bought that one, too, and compared. I discovered there is absolutely no difference in the machine itself. The deluxe simply comes with extras, which boils down to figuring out whether you find the price difference (if there is any) worth paying for the following:
- an extra blade
- a brush (very useful in cleaning the strainer, but a very generic kitchen tool)
- large measurement cup (again, useful, but generic and superfluous if you juice directly into your glass)
- juicer platform and overflow platform (these would be better if they latched onto each other so there's some stability and utility)
- an extra blade-remover
- a bonus book entitled TOTAL JUICING

Omega J8006 Nutrition Center Commercial Masticating Juicer, Black and Chrome Review

Omega J8006 Nutrition Center Commercial Masticating Juicer, Black and ChromeI have rated the 8006 at five stars because of its efficiency, ease of use and quality of materials. The newly designed auger is a translucent black material that GE calls ULTEM.The warranty has been increase from 10 years to 15 years. The juicer probably functions the same as the model 8005 and 8002 so all of the previous reviews apply to the 8006.The power switch is located at the lower back of the juicer and allows the auger to be reversed if something would become lodged in the mastication extraction tube. The Omega auger is patented and has a two stage screen for greater juice output compared to other brands. For example, five medium sized HoneyCrisp apples produced a full quart of wonderful clear pulp-free juice. The apple juice does not turn brown nearly as fast as the juice from centrifugal type juicers due to the lower oxidation from the 80 rpm auger. There is very little foam, and the included screen can be used to filter the final product, if desired. The Omega 8006 does a great job with carrots but with this juicer as with any juicer, the smaller the items, the greater the juice extraction efficiency.I need to point out that the feed tube is only about 1.5" in diameter. There lies the problem with large tube centrifugal juicers. They waste about 20% of the juice and this is significant when you count the price of organic produce.I use a little cutting board to slice items while the juicer pulls them in almost by itself. It works very well.I juice greens including wheat grass and parsley, which can adhere to the spinning basket of a centrifugal juicer and cause the basket to be out of balance. This happened to me with a JuiceLady JL-500 and it cracked the top of the juicer before I could turn it off. If you do not want to cut the produce into smaller pieces then this is not the juicer for you.I enjoy using the 8006 and I have yet to see a bad review of an Omega single auger juicer.Of all the juicers made, this is definitely in the top ten and some websites rate it as No. 1.I can recommend this Omega juicer with no reservations.Enjoy!

Progressive International Citrus Juicer Review

Progressive International Citrus JuicerI was looking for a lemon and lime juicer, something easy to use and cheap. This item fits the bill wonderfully.

It's three pieces. The bottom cup has a little spout on it.It also has a non-skid ring on the bottom to help prevent splippage. The top and bottom cups are graduated with Tbls, ml, and Cups measurements. All three pieces fit very well together and disassemble easily. Also, the manufacturer states that this is dishwasher safe, though I hand-wash mine.
My mother in law has already made lots and lots of bottles of her "healthy" style lemonade with this contraption. When you're done, it fits easily into a tall drawer/cubbard.

It is made entirely out of plastic, so we'll see how long this thing lasts, though I personally only plan to use it infrequently.

All in all, I feel like I got a really good value at ~$5, especially compared to all these other more expensive juicers that may or may not juice all that well.

Oster 3186 Juice-n-Serve 27-Ounce Automatic Citrus Juicer Review

Oster 3186 Juice-n-Serve 27-Ounce Automatic Citrus JuicerI was a little concerned about how this juicer would measure up to our stronger wattage one which was heavy to lift down from an upper cupboard, the pitcher was way too large, and the pitcher handle had broken off.I like the compact size of this model, and it has NO problem efficiently juicing oranges for OJ or lemons for recipes that require juice. I only have an electric juicer because my wrists are sensitive (everyone who uses a keyboard too much should avoid the repetitive movements required with an old-fashioned glass juicer). Am very satisfied with this Oster 3186.

Breville JE95XL Two-Speed Juice Fountain Plus Review

Breville JE95XL Two-Speed Juice Fountain PlusI have tried the Jack LaLanne Power juicer, the Breville JE900 (previous model) and this model.By far this one is the best one!First of all, the Jack LaLanne Power juicer had less power than the Breville series, and also the metal mesh screen had bigger holes. So a lot of the times, the juice produced wasn't really smooth.Because it was white it stained easily if you make a lot of carrot juice. Also, cleanup was more work because you have to unscrew the juicing blade every time for a cleanup.
Now onto the Breville series.Quick and easy cleanup, fine mesh screen so the juice is much more smoother, and more power! What makes the JE95XL better than the JE900 is mainly the two speed control. With the JE900, it was so powerful and fast all the time that when I juiced soft fruits like grapes and strawberries, the fruit wouldn't be juiced all the way.Sometimes, I find half-juiced grapes in the pulp container. So I got a lot less juice with the softer fruits. Also, once you turn it on, it goes full blast! So the juicer would move around on my counter.
With the JE95XL, the speed control allows me to use lower speeds for the softer fruits, and also they changed the motor so that once you turn it on, it starts slow than ramps up.This way the juicer doesn't move around when you turn it on.Also, the pitcher has a better lid, that allows you to keep the lid on while you're juicing.By far, this unit is the best juicer I've used.

Omega J8005 Nutrition Center Single-Gear Commercial Masticating Juicer, Chrome and Black Review

Omega J8005 Nutrition Center Single-Gear Commercial Masticating Juicer, Chrome and BlackI used to have an ACME centrifugal juicer. I thought I would never like any juicer better than the ACME because it made good juice and was very easy to clean. The only drawback to a centrifugal juicer is it won't extract much juice from leafy green vegetables and won't juice wheatgrass.
I got this Omega 8005 juicer because I wanted to be able to juice greens and wheat grass as well as root vegetables. I read on a forum that this new Omega juicer is the best there is for under $400. This Omega juicer is even easier to clean than the ACME, which is a big issue because in the long run you won't use a juicer if its a hassle to clean. And it squeezes all the juice out of anything I put in it. The pulp comes out very dry. It is super quiet too and the ACME was loud.
The Omega runs at a low rpm so it doesn't kill enzymes and stuff like that, so its supposed to make healthier juice than a Champion or centrifugal juicer.
Its a pleasure to use. I make juice every day now. I love getting all the nutrients that I need regularly. It helps my body recover from surfing everyday.
The juicer is very well built and very simple. It seems like it will last a long time and it has a very long warranty.
You can tell that I love this juicer, eh?

Edit: It's now 2009 and I've had this juicer almost five years. I still use it just about every day. I still love it. The juicing screen started to wear out a few months ago. I emailed Omega and they sent me a new one for free. They certainly stand by their 10 year warranty. I am comforted to know that if anything else should happen, I still have five more years of no questions asked replacement.

Factory-Reconditioned Breville XXJE95XL Two Speed Juice Fountain Plus Review

Factory-Reconditioned Breville XXJE95XL Two Speed Juice Fountain PlusThis reconditioned juicer works well and provides a speedy glass of juice in seconds. It's got a satin nickel finish which also looks good on my countertop. It has few parts and all are easily detached and can be cleaned in the dishwasher top rack. You can also line the pulp catcher with a plastic grocery bag to catch all the pulp and then throw it away. The feed chute is fairly large and you can put a whole decent sized tomato or a small apple down it pretty easily. So it saves you chopping time. This juicer has 2 speeds - slow for softer fruits and veggies and high for harder veggies. The italian wire mesh spins at a very high rate and vegetable turn to juice and fine pulp in seconds. You are not supposed to run this juicer more than 3-4 minutes at a stretch but that's ok as it is so fast that in 3 minutes you could probably get through several pounds of veggies. As a juicer it is fantastic, you can even put peeled oranges and tangerines down it and get frothy orange juice in seconds. I even made my own combinations. Ever tried cabbage, carrots and oranges together? It was pretty neat and tasted good!

However despite all the fun I had making several juice mocktails, I am taking away one star from this juicer as I am not very happy about the quantities of vegetables or fruits it takes to create one glass of juice. For instance, about 3-4 pounds of carrots will probably only produce a medium sized glass of juice. I remember metal hand cranked commercial juicers at juice stores from my childhood that produced more juice and less pulp. It also has a hard time with softer fruits even at the low speed. I put in 4 big bunches of champagne grapes into the juicer only to get a 6 oz. glass of juice. When I put the pulp back again into the juicer I got another 2-3 teaspoons of juice and there were still several grapes in the pulp that were not fully juiced. Therefore juicing with this machine can be expensive. I hate to throw away all the good pulp too...as it's pretty wasteful. But I simply cannot make a carrot cake each time I juice carrots or a fruit pie each time I juice some fruits. So the machine is getting less use than it should.

Despite this being a nice juicer I may send it back and go back to eating fresh whole fruit and veggies. That way I'll get the fiber and less calories. But for folks who prefer to drink juice to eating the raw veggies and fruit this is a powerful and well designed juicer and very easy to clean.
Update - The price of this juicer has been fluctuating a lot on Amazon in December 2007 it was listed for under 40 bucks for a few days and now in Jan 2008 it is closer to 90 bucks. Just something you might want to be aware of!

Black & Decker CJ625 30-Watt 34-Ounce Citrus Juicer Review

Black & Decker CJ625 30-Watt 34-Ounce Citrus JuicerI have gone nuts for homemade lemonade. The first batch was made with a manual juicer from half of a 5-lb bag of lemons. I then decided to buy an inexpensive electric juicer, which I used to juice the other half of my lemons. Voila--more juice from the same number of lemons! It will take a while to see any real savings on lemons, but meanwhile the lemonade is fantastic. This machine cleans easily, works well, keeps the seeds out of the juice, and can be adjusted for a little or a lot of pulp in the juice. I didn't try stopping all the pulp, so I can't comment on that. This CJ625 is worth what it costs. Also, the motor kept on working without complaint after 12 half-lemons. I have no complaints either.

Its standard-size cone fits on the reamer to accommodate a variety of citrus fruits. The reamer automatically reverses itself to extract the maximum amount of juice, while a stirrer presses juice from the pulp in the strainer. Other highlights include a generous handle, a drip-free pouring spout, and an easy-to-clean design. For storage, the cord wraps in a slot around the base, and a cover protects against dust. The 30-watt citrus juicer measures approximately 7-3/5 by 7-3/5 by 9-2/5 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

Tribest Citrus Juicer Review

Tribest Citrus JuicerI usually like to 'live' with a product for awhile before posting any sort of review. We've been using our Tribest Citrus Juicer for about 3 months now. There really is not much to say other than it does exactly what I expected a citrus juicer to do... it reams citrus fruits very fast, very efficiently, very safe and easy to use, a really powerful motor, simple quick clean-up and it looks good.Excellent plastics materials used in construction and its a simple, smart design. It might be a little more expensive than many of the other citrus juicers currently in the marketplace but you can be sure you won't be disappointed. When searching for a citrus juicer I read quite a few reviews and it seems weak motors were the biggest single complaint with most of these electric citrus juicers. However I gathered from the reviews about this Tribest Citrus Juicer that a weak motor would definitely NOT be an issue and then when I considered the relatively small price difference for a juicer with a more powerful and reliable motor it really was a no-brainer decision for me. So today, after 3 months of everyday use (sometimes twice a day) squeezing 4-5 oranges and a grapefruit at a time (enough juice for two) I can comfortably come forward and recommend this juicer as a durable, quality kitchen appliance that looks good enough to leave out on the counter and you wouldn't mind using it everyday.

Breville JE900 Juice Fountain Professional Juice Extractor Review

Breville JE900 Juice Fountain Professional Juice ExtractorAfter my flimsy Juiceman Junior finally went to small appliance heaven, I decided to look around for a machine that I can actually live with = use it without hating to clean the thing afterwards.I'd never heard of Breville before, but the solid 5-star rating caught my eye.The idea of a wide enough feeder tube so I don't have to spend so much prep time was enticing, but what made me decide to buy the machine (cheaper some other place, look around) were the high marks on cleanup and performance.-Usually I don't write a review right away, but this juicer simply blew me away. What a beautiful piece of well thought-through craftmanship!Being German, I certainly prefer lasting performance over flimsy throw-away items, and this machine looks and feels like it will stand the test of time.I don't find the motor any louder than my previous machine, so that's not a problem. One reviewer wrote to put a damp paper towel around the pulp catcher rim to prevent tiny bits of pulp from flying out.I still hadfew tiny escapees, probably because I didn't do it right, but one quick wipe took care of it.Cleanup is indeed almost a joy compared to other machines. The mesh screen is build solidly, no plastic parts to wear out where it counts. This machine is worth every penny and then some, and I thank all previous reviewers for having helped me select such a wonderful piece of kitchen equipment!

Prepare delicious, vitamin-rich juices in seconds, thanks to the extra large feed chute and efficient stainless steel micro mesh filter. No need to pre-chop fruits and veggies such as apples, tomatoes, and carrots. Just place them in the chute and push with the pusher. While juicing in bulk, there's no need to disassemble the juice fountain to empty the pulp container, it just slides right out. A powerful motor pushes fruits and veggies through the mesh filter to separate seeds and fiber, maximizing juice output. You can have a glass of juice in 5 seconds, and be through clean up in not much more. The easy clean design has fewer parts and rounded smooth surfaces that can be easily rinsed after use.

Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice Extractor Review

Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice ExtractorWe just bought this juicer on Amazon, using the $25 discount and the free shipping.Made it the best price on the internet when we bought it first of December 2005.Before commenting on the juicer, let me tell you what we used before this juicer arrived.

We have a top of the line Green Power juicer. If you know juicers, you know this is one of the best. We've been juicing with it on a daily basis for 10 years and it is still going strong. It has a high juice yield (dry pulp), can juice grasses and greens efficiently (wheatgrass, parsley, spinach etc.), and low temperatures and rpm minimize oxidation so juice lasts a long time.Other advantages are claimed, but these are the biggest for us.

A well-known downside to twin-screw type juicers like the Green Power is that it takes quite a bit of force to push items like carrots into the juicer, because there is no cutting blade action, just the gripping/squeezing action of the twin screws.Frankly, after 10 years of pushing hard on this thing, we've gotten tired of it, even though it makes great juice. We also don't like the 1.5" square opening which requires us to cut up apples and large carrots before feeding them.Cleanup isn't too bad, but not great either.I decided to buy a juicer that would make good juice in reasonably high yields but with emphasis on speed and ease of use.My intent was that this juicer would complement but not replace the Green Power.

Well, after doing a lot of research and reading the reviews here and elsewhere, I decided to buy the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite. The most attractive claims for this juicer were the fast juicing speed, relatively easy cleanup, and the widemouth (3" round) opening. The stainless steel exterior was also a plus, as the Green Power's white plastic parts became stained long ago (vegetable juices can do that!).

The biggest concern with this juicer was the limited warranty period (1-3 years) compared to other juicers in its class (which go as high as 15 years).Phone discussion with a vendor indicated concerns about the lifetime of the motor, though his experience was not with the Elite, which has a new, more powerful motor.I also had some concerns about how efficiently it would extract juice compared to our Green Power, how it would work on spinach and other leafy vegetables, and whether the juice would stay fresh as long.

Though I'd have preferred a better warranty, I decided the features were attractive enough to try it.It is a lot of money to throw away if it fails just after the warranty. But if the ease of juicing was as good as claimed, it would almost be worth it!

The new juicer arrived a few days ago.It was simple to put together. The instructions were clearly written. After washing the parts in the dishwasher (yes, they are dishwasher proof), my wife and I proceeded to make one of our standards, carrot-apple-celery.Boy, were we blown away! This juicer met our expectations and more!

Our apples were large, so we had to quarter them despite the 3" opening. However, in the Green Power we have to cut them into 9 pieces, requiring 4 knife cuts instead of 2 for the Juice Fountain. The apples fed into the juicer easily and very rapidly.Apples feed into the Green Power without too much force, but can be hard to feed because of the pulp they generate (you make apple sauce in the screw feed area and it backs up the chute). We usually use Granny Smiths to minimize that problem on the Green Power, but the Juice Fountain had no problem at all, so I tried some Galas and they also fed in beautifully. In the Green Power, you have to alternate carrots with soft fruits to avoid stalling the screw conveying action; there was no such need with the Juice Fountain. For ease of feeding pulp-producing or juicy fruits and vegetables, I give the Juice Fountain an "A+" compared to the Green Power a "C".

We then fed in the celery. In the Green Power, celery strings wrap around the end of the screws and plug the end plug. The cutting/centrifugal juicing mechanism of the Juice Fountain eliminates such issues completely. The celery fed in very easily and produced plenty of juice. In the Green Power, celery that is small or somewhat old (limp) can be hard to feed into the chute since the stalks don't feed into the screw that easily and the plastic crammer tends to jam them in the chute rather than push them into the screws. In the Juice Fountain, celery of all sizes, including tips and leaves, fed in easily. For ease of handling fibrous vegetables or long, flexible vegetables, I give the Juice Fountain an A+ and the Green Power a B.

Already by this time I knew the Juice Fountain really does make juice fast!I couldn't wait to try the carrots. We put them in whole (minus the cut off tops) and for smaller ones, in bunches of 2 or 3.They just zipped into the juicer! The instruction manual says that juice yield is higher if you feed them slowly, so we didn't push the limits of feed speed, but suffice it to say, it was MUCH faster than the Green Power, on the order of just a few seconds.Furthermore, there was almost no force required to push the carrots in, a welcome change from the 2-handed, "lean your body weight into it" effort required on the Green Power. What a delight this was!For speed of juicing, we give the Juice Fountain an A+ and the Green Power a C.For ease of feeding, we give the Juice Fountain an A+ and the Green Power a D.

We were having so much fun we grabbed more carrots and shoved them in, and then disaster happened! With the juicer still outputting juice, the juice container (pitcher) overflowed and bright orange carrot juice poured out over the countertops and down the face of our painted white cabinets, staining them orange. We were having so much fun juicing, and it was happening so quickly compared to the Green Power, that we didn't realize how much juice we had made in so short a time!Had we been using the Green Power, we'd just be getting started.Oh well.We hit the well-marked red STOP button on the front of the juicer, then sponged up the mess, using 409 cleaner to get the orange stains off the cabinets. The stainless steel Juice Fountain Elite cleaned up easily.

We emptied the pitcher and then finished our juicing, making mental note to remember how rapidly this thing produces juice and to not exceed the pitcher's MAX level marking in the future.

What about noise during juicing? Many have suggested that the Juice Fountain is noisy. My wife and I didn't find it so at all.We have a flour mill that sounds like a jet plane! We have a Vitamix blender that makes a racket (on highest speed).By comparison, this juicer is quiet. Not as quiet as the Green Power, but not at all annoying. For noise, we'd give the Juice Fountain a B and the Green Power an A, with a Vitamix blender a D and our grain mill an F (requiring ear plugs).

Now for the taste test. The defrother on the pitcher seems to work OK.The juice was excellent, not oxidized tasting in comparison to juice from the Green Power. In fact, maybe it was my imagination, but I think it tasted fresher. The Green Power may use lower speed and incorporate less air, but because it takes so long to make the juice, by the time you are finished, the first part of the batch may be 20 minutes old. With the Juice Fountain, it may be just a couple minutes old.For taste, I give the Juice Fountain an A+, the Green Power an A.

We dislike pulp in our vegetable juices. With the Green Power, the amount of pulp in the juice is not bad, but we still have to strain it through a wire screen strainer to get pulp-free juice. With carrot-Granny Smith apple-celery, a quart of juice will leave at least 2-3 tablespoons of pulp in the strainer.By contrast, the Juice Fountain juice was virtually pulp-free.We didn't bother straining it, there was so little. This is great, since wire screens tend to plug and back-up, and are a pain to keep clean.Yet another time saver for both juice production and clean-up!For pulp-free juice, Juice Fountain merits an A+ and Green Power gets a B.

OK.What about juicing efficiency?I don't have any hard numbers on this, but the pulp felt about as dry as that from the Green Power. That suggests that the efficiency was similar. The Green Power is claimed to have one of the highest extraction efficiencies of any juicer on the market, short of the Walker or other press-type juicers. That seems to be a fair claim. However, actual practice may vary. The dryness of pulp in the Green Power is controlled by how far you screw in the end plug, which creates back pressure and controls the pulp flow rate.If you screw it all the way in, you get very dry pulp. However, the juicer feeds poorly, and if you have anything like apples you'll just backup the pulp into the chute and the screw won't be able to generate enough pumping pressure to overcome the backpressure of the plug. Thus, in practice, we kept the end plug of our Green Power screwed out about a half turn. This resulted in better screw feed action but somewhat wetter pulp. Some Green Power users will push the pulp through a second time to get higher yields, but we didn't bother.By comparison, the Juice Fountain seems to make pulp of similar dryness to what we were getting on the Green Power, but without having to mess with optimum end plug settings, screw backups, or feeding pulp through a second time. Thus, I give both Green Power and Juice Fountain an A for efficiency, but the Juice Fountain gets there more easily.Perhaps in the future I'll do a more quantitative comparison.

Cleanup was a breeze.I just rinsed all the top parts off and put them in a drying rack or the dishwasher. The wire mesh and...Read more›

Product Description:
Make great tasting, fresh fruit or vegetable drinks at home with this efficient juicer from Breville. The unit's Italian-made 1000-watt (1-1/3 horsepower) motor delivers ultimate power and durability, while its built-in electronic "smart chip" regulates power to the blades, depending on the juicing load. The juicer's patented, dual-action, diagonal knife blades are encased by a titanium-plated stainless-steel cutting disc, which features 115 individual knives to grind pulp into the tiniest particles. The machine's circular three-inch stainless feed tube easily processes whole fruits and vegetables without pre-cutting, slicing, or dicing. The patented design centers the feed tube directly over the cutter, providing the strength to process large quantities of fruit and vegetables instantly.
For harder fruits and vegetables, like apples and carrots, the juicer's high-speed delivers a crushing 13,000 RPM, approximately three times faster than most other machines. At such speeds, the pulp particles are "g-forced" against the stainless-steel micro-mesh filter with tremendous pressure to squeeze out as much juice as possible. An 8-ounce glass of juice from whole apples takes less than five seconds. Low-speed spins at a whisper-quiet 6500 RPMs, which delivers the best results when juicing leafy vegetables, or softer fruits such as watermelons or oranges. A 34-fluid-ounce (1 liter) juicing pitcher, a large 100-fluid-ounce pulp container, and a user manual with recipes are included, and dishwasher-safe parts make cleanup a snap. Housed in beautiful die-cast stainless steel, the juicer measures 8 by 9 by 19 inches and carries a one-year warranty.
