I bought this juicer expecting it to out-perform my current machine. However, it's just too much trouble to assemble the screw and caps and cut up vegetables and feed them in the hopper and plunge them in, slowly.With my old high speed blender that I use for carrot juices, it's simply amatter of pushing whole carrots into the top slot.Then open and clean out.Takes a minute.In sum, I would say this Samson machine may be useful for something, to someone.But please, if only I could have tried it out first.

Omega 8003 Nutrition Center - Wheatgrass, Fruits and More Review

I bought this juicer mainly to juice green vegetables. As I don't like salads and find it pretty difficult to get raw vegetables in my diet, otherwise. It works great, very nice machine, well worth the money. The only thing I've found that didn't juice well all the time so far has been plums. I think, the softer the fruit, the more difficult its going to be to juice. I usually don't have problems with plums, though, I only had trouble one time. ...As far as the taste. Well, add an apple or two and you can consume even the bitterest of greens (kale, collard greens, ect). Which, of course, are the best ones for you. This was, personally, my main reason for buying it.

Anyways, if you're looking for an inexpensive, good quality, masticating style juicer for juicing vegetables...Then I would say; Look no further, this is your machine. The only other thing Ive tried with it was making an almond butter. And it does this quite well, as well. Although, you do have to add a decent amount of oil. I used walnut oil and it turned out pretty nice. Add a bit of honey to sweeten and you're set. A lot fresher than buying the jarred stuff. Plus, it gives you the option of soaking the nuts, which is said to make digestion easier. I've seen nut butters that use soaked nuts sell at VERY high prices in health food stores. So, if you're into soaking/sprouting foods, this would be a huge money saver.

My only complaint would be that its a bit time consuming. I'd say it takes at least a half an hour to wash/cut produce, juice, and clean parts. ...Perhaps even a bit longer, depending on how quick you are. The parts are very easy to clean, though, and assembly is a snap after you get used to how it all connects. All in all, I'd say its certainly worth the time spent.

Omega Model 8003 Juicer - White Review

I purchased this juicer at least partially out of curiosity.I've had a Champion 25+ years, an Acme for 20, and Breville, L'Equip and Omega centrifugal juicers.

The problem with these centrifugals is that they are awful for leafy greens.The Champion will do leafy greens okay, but I was interested in higher yield.Plus, I do enjoy a shot of wheatgrass and the Champion won't do it at all.

I looked at both twin-gear and single-auger types.Twin-gear juicers are still being developed, so I ended up single-auger.After watching the TriBest infomercial demonstrated by some babe who acted like she was on cocaine, I went to Omega.My Omega centrifugal works flawlessly.I purchased the 8003 over the 8005 or 8006 because I like white appliances.

The 8003 is heavier than it appears in photos.However, it is quite compact, smaller than my Champion.Assembly is quite simple; the auger housing, auger, screen and end cone fit logically and the locking wheels are able to be operated with wet hands.As stated by another reviewer, the feed tube is not large; if one wants to drop whole pieces of fruit in this isn't the juicer for you. This is by far the quietest juicer I've owned.

No, where this juicer excels is with leafy greens.It will happily chomp its way through any green one wants.Unlike the Champion, stringy greens such as celery won't accidentally get wound around the auger.The trick with this juicer is to let the slow-turning auger feed at its own speed, helped with the pusher.BTW if anyone wants to see this juicer in action, go to YouTube and there are several excellent demos.I can run several carrots at a time through the big-mouth Breville; not on this juicer.However, of course, the Breville won't do leafy greensas this one does!

The downside to a white juicer is that carrots and beets can stain.Doesn't bother me, but if that could be a problem, buy the chrome finish one with black peripherals.

I know there has been a model 8006 introduced recently with an auger that's supposed to be several times harder than the melamine one used here.For ~$125 more, I don't see the benefit.I expect the price on the 8006 will drop when the novelty wears off.

If one wants to juice carrots, apples, and other firm fruit, a centrifugal will probably be the juicer of choice.I still use mine for these.However, if one wants to increase leafy greens in one's diet, one of these will definitely fill the bill.

Omega O2 Household Pulp Ejector Juicer Review

When I first received this juicer (I read a lot of reviews and decided this was the best one for a great price) my first reaction was that it was tiny. Whatever! Size isn't everything! This juicer proves it. We juice every morning and this thing works great. The chute is small but it is not a big deal to cut your fruits and veggies. The pulp holder is plenty large. But most importantly it is powerful and creates great juice!

I wouldn't worry about all the reviews that talk about wet pulp being an issue of poor juicing (this goes for all juicers not just this one)... the pulp will always be a little wet but (at least from this juicer) you still get a ton of juice.. so no worries.

Clean up is super easy. We clean up right after we finish juicing so nothing has a chance to dry and get stuck to the parts. I think this makes all the difference. To disassemble and clean probably takes about 5 minutes max.

I have no complaints about this juicer. I just wonder why people buy bigger and more expensive ones.

Omega 8005 Juicer - Wheatgrass, Fruit and Vegetable Juicer Review

If you accept that a masticating juicer gives better quality juice than a centrifical, but you do not want a heavy, awkward machine that takes a long time to set up and longer to clean, then this is a great choice. Omega hit the sweet spot with this product. It is light, relatively small, quiet, and cleans rather quickly (the mesh screen is small and does not seem to hold on to the food), while producing fine juice from a variety of plants. (Impressive on celery and spinach; quite good enough on carrots) The result is a masticating juicer that actually gets used, rather than a (perhaps) theoretically superior juicer that is just too much of a hassle to take out. I have a 31 year-old Champion which I really like; I just never use it except when I am fasting, and sometimes not even then.
One thing should be mentioned. Many single gear juicer ads boast that a slow-turning auger damages the juice less than, say, a Champion because its fast rotation heats the juice and deactivates enzymes and other molecules. Truth is, when I run cold carrots through a Champion, I get cold carrot juice; when I run cold carrots through an Omega 8005, the juice is not warm, but it is definitely not cold. Clearly, if there is less rotation, then the heavy mechanical compression at a certain point produces heat to a greater extent than Champion's rapid rotation does. (I have read one review of another single auger juicer that said its juiced carrots actually came out hot.) Personally, I do not think either type machine actually hurts the juice's chemistry, but Champion should call its single auger competititors on their deceptive claim.
Summary: If you want knock-your-socks off cold carrot juice, get a Champion (although the Omega will still give you a carrot juice high, and, for all I know, its juice will taste just as good if you chill it). If you want bragging rights about the amount of nutrients in your juice, get a Green machine (at almost twice the price, twice the weight, and a long time to clean up). If you want a juicer that probably gives better quality and variety of juices than a centrifical juicer with less noise and no greater cleanup time, get this one. You will actually use it even if you don't have the counter space for it.

I used to have an ACME centrifugal juicer. I thought I would never like any juicer better than the ACME because it made good juice and was very easy to clean. The only drawback to a centrifugal juicer is it won't extract much juice from leafy green vegetables and won't juice wheatgrass.
I got this Omega 8005 juicer because I wanted to be able to juice greens and wheat grass as well as root vegetables. I read on a forum that this new Omega juicer is the best there is for under $400. This Omega juicer is even easier to clean than the ACME, which is a big issue because in the long run you won't use a juicer if its a hassle to clean. And it squeezes all the juice out of anything I put in it. The pulp comes out very dry. It is super quiet too and the ACME was loud.
The Omega runs at a low rpm so it doesn't kill enzymes and stuff like that, so its supposed to make healthier juice than a Champion or centrifugal juicer.
Its a pleasure to use. I make juice every day now. I love getting all the nutrients that I need regularly. It helps my body recover from surfing everyday.
The juicer is very well built and very simple. It seems like it will last a long time and it has a very long warranty.
You can tell that I love this juicer, eh?

Edit: It's now 2009 and I've had this juicer almost five years. I still use it just about every day. I still love it. The juicing screen started to wear out a few months ago. I emailed Omega and they sent me a new one for free. They certainly stand by their 10 year warranty. I am comforted to know that if anything else should happen, I still have five more years of no questions asked replacement.
