It takes a day or two to get used to, but this really is a well made manual juicer that's designed to last a lifetime. It only takes a couple of minutes to juice up a dixe cup (3 oz.) of wheatgrass. After two weeks of using this product I can honestly say that it's easy to use and clean and the wheatgrass-just three oz. a day is a real energizer and revitalizer. If you grow your own wheatgrass, you can drink this wonderful juice for just pennies a day. There are a few limitations. First the handle does not securely lock on and can inadvertantly fall off if not left in the down possition. It's pretty much limited to standard thickness counter tops and the rubber base gasket has a tendancy to decouple from it's fitting on the securing screw (easy to refit, but could potentially get lost). This juicer is probably not suited for large family use where a single individual is going to do the cranking. That said it's a good idea to educate yourself on the benefits of wheatgrass as well. I recommend, "Wheatgrass Natures Best Medicine" for anyone who wishes a reasonable understanding of the theraputic applications and uses of wheatgrass.
For large families or elderly individuals who may have muscular limitations I would recommend one of the electric wheatgrass juicers (be sure it's a wheatgrass juicer-regular juicers wont work with wheatgrass. Keep in mind that most wheatgrass juicers end up with an electric wheatgrass juicer-it just makes sense for the majority of situations, however if the power ever goes out?
