This little juicer is a great intro into the juicing lifestyle. It is a centrifugal juicer meaning the vegetables you place into it are shredded by tiny teeth and the pulp is thrown against the outer wall of the screen and the juice is forced out by the spinning motion. What you get is a fair amount of juice for the vegetables you place into it. I have owned this juicer for over 5 years with little or no problems at all with it. I usually juice every day so that is saying a good deal for a machine that costs less than $100.I would give it 5 stars if it were not for the following things:
1. It is noisy, I mean lock up the cat because when you fire it up it resembles a jet engine taking off.
2. A pain to clean. It only has 1 moving part but due to the nature of the process food particles fling all over the inside of it.
3. Bogs down with pulpy fruits.
Some hard-core juicing people say that centrifugal juicers heat the juice up and this destroys nutrients. In my opinion even heated a small amount is still better than sucking down soda and pizza any day.
